About Woodland Wellness

A little bit about me

From a young age, I developed a deep love for nature, sparked by the countless hours spent climbing with my family. This passion for the outdoors led me to pursue a degree in Geography, where I further explored my connection to the natural world. My journey took a meaningful turn when, while working at a school, I was given the opportunity to establish a Forest School.

Years later, I’m fortunate to live with my husband and two sons on a small private woodland, a place where I can share the beauty of nature with others and hopefully inspire a new generation to connect with the environment.

As a Level 3 Forest School Leader, with qualifications in Forest School First Aid, and a DBS check, I am deeply committed to fostering a love for nature in children. I also bring teaching experience and training in young people's mental health and counselling, ensuring a holistic approach to education that nurtures both their emotional well-being and connection to the world around them.

A little about Seedlings' Forest School and Beekeeping

Spending time in nature and overcoming small challenges can have a profound impact on self-esteem and confidence. I find great joy in supporting others and hope to make a positive difference in their lives.

Nestled within 1.5 acres of private woodland in Little Baddow, I offer young children under five the opportunity to experience the outdoors and connect with the natural beauty of our local environment. Each session lasts 1.5 hours and is limited to 15 children, ensuring a personal and enriching experience. Activities include playing in the mud kitchen, going on bug hunts, rope climbing, creating nature crafts, and toasting marshmallows over a campfire. As a qualified Forest School Leader, I have experience working with children of all ages, including those with special educational needs and disabilities.

In the spring and summer months, I also offer a unique beekeeping experience. Whether you're with friends or family, you’ll have the chance to step into the life of a beekeeper. After donning protective suits, you’ll get an up-close look at the bees, observe all stages of their life cycle, find the queen, and discover pollen and honey in the hive. At the end of the session, you’ll even have the chance to sample fresh honey and enjoy refreshments in our peaceful, natural surroundings.

Feel free to browse our website to learn more, and if you or your child would like to join us for an adventure, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
